TIPS FOR GUESTS
Make reservations as far
in advance as possible. Be sure to leave a phone number where you may be reached prior to
your trip.
Predetermine the method and the amount of payment. Some accommodations do NOT accept personal checks. After you have looked at your room, settle your bill. Ask your host about suggested arrival and departure times. Advise the host of your approximate arrival time. Call if you will be very late. Get directions or, better yet, get a map. San Diego has many canyons, dead-end and one-way streets, and a map may save many minutes and miles. If you have allergies, ask if the offending objects (animals, smoke, plants) are present in the house or surrounding areas. Determine house rules - e.g., no smoking, no pets, no alcohol, kitchen and parking privileges. Determine the location and type of facilities, i.e., single, double, or king-size bed, first or second floor, shared or private, full or half bath. Ask about breakfast - continental (bread, juice, beverage) full, or the facilities to prepare your own. TAKING A TAXI IN SAN DIEGO The fare is about $2.00 per mile. State your destination and determine the fare before you hire the taxi. |
